## Short definition

A framework that measures how advanced an organization is at executing Account-Based Marketing across strategy, data, plays, and revenue alignment.

## What it is

The ABM Maturity Scale ranks B2B organizations across stages — typically nascent, emerging, expanding, and mature — based on how systematically they identify target accounts, orchestrate cross-channel plays, integrate sales and marketing data, and tie ABM activity to pipeline and revenue. It is a diagnostic tool: teams use it to understand where they stand today and what specific capabilities (data infrastructure, intent signals, account scoring, sales alignment, attribution) they need to build to move up. Unlike a maturity model, the scale focuses on positioning and benchmarking rather than prescribing the path.

## My definition

I treat the ABM Maturity Scale as a yearly self-audit, not a vanity score. Most teams that say they "do ABM" are actually at the emerging stage — running a target list and some LinkedIn ads. Real maturity shows up when account scoring, sales plays, and reporting all live in the same operating cadence.
