## Short definition

A semi-fictional profile of the human decision-maker inside your ICP — their role, goals, pains, triggers, and how they actually buy.

## What it is

A Buyer Persona is a structured representation of a real person involved in the buying decision: their job title and seniority, the goals they are measured on, the problems they wake up trying to solve, the triggers that put your category on their radar, the channels they trust, the language they use, and the objections they raise. Good personas are built from customer interviews, sales call recordings, win/loss analysis, and CRM data — not from a workshop with sticky notes. They are used to shape positioning, messaging, content, ad targeting, sales enablement, and product onboarding so that every touchpoint feels like it was written for one specific human, not a market segment.

## My definition

A persona is not a demographic poster. If your persona document does not change how a copywriter writes a single email or how a rep opens a single call, it is decoration. The only personas worth having are the ones that make decisions easier.
